Savannah Carr-Wilson (ENVS ’17, Canada)

Savannah is studying at CEU this year thanks to the supporters of the Alumni Scholarship, next|generation

In her own words:

I recently graduated from the University of Victoria, Canada, with a law degree specializing in Environmental Law and Sustainability. I previously obtained a BA in International Politics and History from Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany.

During my law degree, I volunteered with a law student’s legal advice program. During my second and third years I worked in an environmental law clinic. I wrote legal briefs and drew media attention to environmental issues that I am passionate about, such as protected area designation and the harm associated with hydraulic fracturing and oil and gas pipelines. Following my law degree I worked as a policy researcher with POLIS, a water sustainability organization, writing reports and organizing public information sessions advocating for strong regional water law and policy.

I chose CEU and the MESPOM program because I see it as a unique opportunity to build on and round out my environmental law knowledge and to do so in a diverse, international environment. I’d like to thank the alumni donors for contributing to my scholarship and helping to make my studies at CEU possible. I look forward to eventually becoming a CEU alumni ambassador in Canada.
